Garden Party.
The garden party in connection with the Church of England took place on Wednesday, on Mr R. Ching's property, which was kindly lent for the purpose. The heavy rain which fell early in the morning had the effect ol keeping a number of people away. Eventually the weather cleared up, and there was a fair attendance, and a very enjoyable time was spent. There were a num* ber of amusements and games, in which everyone took part, the buneating race and the ladies' walking causing a good deal of amusement. The hidden treasure hunt was a slight diversion, which consisted of all those who entered for the prize searching through the garden for a particular article which had been hidden, and the finder was then entitled to the prize. A large quantity of tempting edibles had been provided and were handed round from the verandah of the residence. The general view of the surroundings, the drive to the farm, and the welcome extended to all made the outing a very agreeable one.
