—-4 (Own Correspondent.) A very enjoyable dance (got up by the young men of the district) was held in the hall on January 80. Mrs Harrison supplied the music, and Mr W. Harrison acted as M.O. The Wesleyan Harvest Thanksgiving Services were held on Sunday. The church wan prettily decorated with flowers, wreaths, crosses, nikau palms and large tests. Miss M. and H. Symons were the decorators. There was an abundance of fruit and vegetables donated. The Eev. Foston preached on Sunday afternoon and Mr Gray in the evening. The concert and sale of gifts was held on Monday night, when the following programme was gone through: Pianoforte solo, Mrs Moeiler; song, Mrs Harrison; song, Mr Gordon ; song, Mr Beadle; pianoforte solo, Miss Keasberry; song, Mr Turner; song, Mrs Moeiler; duet, Messrs Turner and Beadle; violin and pianoforte duet, „ Messrs Higham and Layard; song, Mr G, Hughson ; violin and organ duet, Mr Higham and Miss Symons ; trio, Messrs Higham aud Billows (violins), and Gordon (pis.no). Mrs Harrison, Mrs Poston, Miss Symons, and Mr Billows played the accompaniments. Good prices were realised at the sale, the proceeds of the evening amounting to over £B, after paying expenses. There is great excitement amongst the Maoris over. Tohu's death. A large number o:f visitors have arrived, are arriving, and are still to arrive at the pah. It will be the largest tangi held on the coaat for many years, and will last a few weeks.
