FORTNIGHTLY PIG SALE . HELD ON MONDAY Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their usual fortnightly pig sale on the above date, when a slightly larger yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Competition was keen with prices at at about late rates. Realisations:
Baconers, £3 14s to £-1; light-bac-oners, £3 6s to £3 15s; porkers, £2 8s to £3; stores, £2 to £2 10s ; slips, £1 15s to £2; weaners, £l Cs to £i 15s; smaller sorts, 18s to £l 3s; choppers, to £3 15s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercant.le Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows:
We had a good entry of bacon and weaner pigs, but slips and store pigs remain very scarce. Competition was keen throughout the sale with prices on a par at late rates; weaner pigs on account of Mr. Gordon Hamilton made to 38s. Prices realised were:
Heavy prime baconers, £3 18s to £-1 4s; heavy baconers, £3 9s to £3 16s; light baconers, £3 to £3 8s ; heavy porkers, £2 12s to £3; light porkers, £2 Cs to £2 8s; good store pigs, 38s to £2 2s; slips, 30s to 35s ; good weaners, 30s to 38s; small weaners, 18s to 265; choppers, £2 -10 sto £4; small sow in pig, £2 17s. The next pig sale will be held on Monday, October 14.
