In making this anonuncement, the Ministry of Food explains that this is a precautionary measure to meet the normal sqasonaj reduction of output from Australia and New. Zealand, which is always at the lowest in September and October, but rises progressively from November onwards.
A seasonal increase in fresh meat has enabled the ration to be temporarily increased from Is lOd worth of meat each week to 2s 2d worth.
