CATTLE IN DOMAIN.

John Walls was charged that on July 7 he allowed his cattle to wander in the domain. Defendant, who appeared, said that he had been told by Mr Hamilton, the caretaker, that he could put the cattle in the. domain.

Joseph Pennell, the Borough ranger, stated that he received word from the Mayor to impound the cattle and prosecute the owner. He did not know if Walls had any permission from anybody. The magistrate said that he would adjourn the case to August 7 to allow defendant an opportunity of bringing Mr Hamilton to prove that he had given him permission. He warned defendant that if Mr Hamilton could, not satisfy him that he had given his permission the fine-would.be a heavy one.
