A GUN WANTED!
If somebody grants a request made by Cr T. D. B. Roy at the meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council last night, there will probably be a sudden decrease in the dog population in his section of the borough. “Just give me a gun,” he said, “ and I could fix them.” He told of seeing teams of dogs, big and small “ galloping about the streets and parks at all hours of the day.” One did not like to see them doing things they should not be doing, he commented. „ TT The Deputy Mayor, Cr N. H. Shepherd, sail he had a good team in his street, and Cr R. S. Brent was moved to a heated condemnation of the “ fiasco ” caused by legislation which prevented the council from charging more for dog licences. The discussion dissolved into mutterings among individual councillors until Cr Shepherd’s suggestion that the council pass on to other business was accepted.
