RATEPAYERS’ MEETING

At the monthly meeting of the Mornington District Ratepayers and Householders’ Association, the executive decided to write to the Council’s Transport Committee requesting that a suspension veranda be constructed on the front of the Momington tramshed building to provide shelter for passengers for the Elgin road and Belleknowes buses. The association also asked that an outward stop be provided for Elgin road and Belleknowes passengers opposite the communitv centre in Mailer street. It was decided to write to the town clerk making the following requests:— (11 That attention be given to the surface of the roadway in Peel street. (2) That the footpaths in Aitken place be attended to. (3) That a pedestrian crossing be provided at the intersection of Kenmure road and Stone street. (41 That the roadway at the junction of English avenue and Kenmure road be tar-sealed. (5) That tarred macadam be spread on a small area between the footway and boundary fence at the intersection of Forfar street and the lower end of Kerriemuir street. (6) That attention be given to a hedge on council property in Kenmure road just above Stone street.
