ROYAL TOUR
May Be Limited
To Centres
Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, Oct. 17.
It has been reported here that, because of the condition of his Majesty’s health, the royal tour of New Zealand may be confined to the four main cities with a visit also to one of the North Island Maori centres.
When this report was referred tonight to the Secretary for Internal Affairs, Mr A. C. Harper, he said it was clear that the tour of their Majesties would have to be greatly curtailed. That was fairly common knowledge, but there could be no definite plans made until he had completed his forthcoming visit to Buckingham Palace for discussions there. Mr Harper will leave by flying boat from Evans Bay on October 27. After discussions in Australia he will go on to London. He may be away till the end of the year as he has other departmental business to transact.
