Brutus May Be Taken To Australia
It is possible that the Dunedin sportsman, Mr G. J. Barton, will send a team to Australia later in the year. Nothing definite has been arranged and it depends on the form shown by his horses whether the trio will be made. The team will probably include the rising three-year-old Ruthless colt Brutus and a rising two-year-old colt by Gold Nib from Perfect Peace, who was purchased at the last. Trentham sales for 1300gns. Their main missions would be the Australian Derby and the Breeders’ Plate respectively. The trip would only be a short one as Mr Barton intends racing the pair in the principal classic races at the New Zealand Cup meeting.
