OPTIMISTIC REPORT
American Employment Trends NZPA—Copyright WASHINGTON, Rec. 7 p.m. May 14. The Labour Department predicted today that the present trend of more jobs would continue during the next two months. Total employment might exceed 60,000,000. The department, in one of its most optimistic reports in months, said the outlook for the next two months promised continued expansion in nearly every area, with manufacturing continuing to lead the improvement. Dangerous pockets of unemployment still existed, but the situation now was the exact reverse of a year ago.
