Dr and Mrs Arnold Perry are on holiday at Wanaka. Dr and Mrs F. H. Smirk are on holiday in Lawrence. Mrs Arthur Roydhouse, of Wallace street, has left on a visit to the Wairarapa. Dr and Mrs W. Murphy, Forbury road, are on holiday in Queenstown. Dr and Mrs John A. Allan are visiting Wellington and Christchurch. Miss Jose Bruce Smith, Kew, will leave Dunedin next Monday to take up a post in Hamilton. Miss Joan Watts, London, who has been examining in Dunedin for the Royal Academy of Dancing, will leave for the north today. Miss Lily Stevens will leave today for Oamaru. where she will judge the ballet dancing sections at the competitions festival. * At the annual meeting of the Taieri Croquet Club. Mrs Swallow was elected president and Mrs Gordon vice-president. Mrs Wilson and Mrs Smeaton were elected secretary and treasurer respectively. Miss Vida Sheddan will be the speaker at the Travel Club’s morning tea reception tomorrow. The hostesses will be Mrs J. M. Paterson and Mrs A. McCrostie. Hostesses for Miss Jess Clouston, of Lauder, whose marriage to Mr Garth Robinson will take place on Thursday, have been Mrs G. M. Charles, Mrs G. Nevill, Mrs D. Hamilton, Mrs F. C. Morgan and Miss J. Morgan. Mrs J. C. Rowley, of Hawea, who is going on a visit to England, has left on the first stage of her journey. Mrs J. S. Hamilton, Tarras, will leave tomorrow to join Mrs Rowley for the voyage. Miss Violet Roche, organising secretary of Dr Barnardo's Homes Fund in New Zealand, arrived in Dunedin yesterday. Tomorrow there will be a meeting under the chairmanship of Lady Cameron, when preliminary arrangements will be made for the decorated table display to be held in June.
