KILLER POLICY

Rabbit Destruction Council SUPPORT IN OTAGO The Otago General Rehabilitation Farming Committee has unanimously decided to support the killer policy of the Rabbit Destruction Council. This decision was made at a meeting of the committee held in Dunedin last week. The meeting was attended by the chairmen and deputy-chairmen of farming sub-committees throughout Otago and in Oamaru, and representatives of the Lands Department, State Advances Corporation and the Rehabilitation Department. A member of the committee told the Daily Times that the resolution had been passed because of indecision on the subject by Cabinet. It was known that Mr Holyoake would have stated the Government’s policy two weeks ago, but members of the Cabinet could not reach an agreement. The member said that where rabbit boards had been tried out they seemed quite effective, and there was little use “ changing horses in mid-stream.”
