SPORT IN MILTON
Special to the Daily Times MILTON, May 14. South Otago High School took the lead in the Third Grade Rugby football competition on Saturday by defeating Toko by 15 points to 9. Toko had the superior forwards, but its backs were' no match for the school team. Results:— Senior Grade.—Clinton 9, Toko 6; Clutha 9, Valley 8. Second Grade.—Clinton 8, Toko 3; Clutha 8, Lawrence 3; Star 6, Waiwera 6. Third Grade.—South Otago High School 15, Toko 9; Clutha 12, Crescent 8;, Owaka 6, Clinton 3. BASKETBALL Results of basketball matches:—A Grade: Ex-girls 13. Bruce A 12. B Grade: Tokoiti 11, St. Mary’s 9; Bruce B 8, School C 4. HARRIERS The Milton Harrier Club held two races on Saturday. Results:—Quarter-mile (colts): K. Kennedy 1, A. Keenan 2, R. Read 3—nine started. One Mile (seniors): D. Bayne 1. R. Robinson 2, D. Miller 3 six competed.
