.Won By Hillside Choir The Hillside Workshops WEA Choir won the Edmond Challenge Shield at the Green Island Competitions Society festival, which was continued last night. The judge, Mr James Clark, said that the Hillside choir and the other competitor, the Green Island Musical Society Choir, were most enjoyable, and that there was not a great difference between them. There was a fair attendance. Results:— , Song GO and under 13 years).— Yvonne Connor 1, K. Ayshford 2, Miriam Smeaton 3; h.c., Maureen Evans and Shirley Craig. Senior Choir.—Hillside Workshops WEA Choir (conductor, Mr W. Mitchell) 1, Green Island Musical Society (conductor, Mr R. W. Flintoff) 2. Humorous Recitation (girls 10 and under 13 years).—Myro Lou Jory 1, Catherine Munro 2, Gaye Lawrence and June Fox (equal) 3; h.c., Shirley Crsi^< Vocal Duet in Character (14 and under 17 years).—Lenore Potbury and Denise Peterson 1.
