FOG AT HAREWOOD
Plane Unable To Land
Heavy fog at Harewood interrupted the National Airways* service yesterday morning when the plane which left Palmerston North for Dunedin at 7.15 a.m. was unable to land. Five passengers who were booked for Harewood were put down at Waitaki, and taken north by taxi—two of these gaining free transport by the incident for part of their journey as they were bound for Timaru. The fog lifted about noon, and no other service was interrupted. The first plane due to land at Harewood in the morning was fortunate in finding a hole in the fog. No difficulty is experienced in taking off under fog conditions, but landing constitutes a hazard.
