RSA Members Vote For A Charter

By 1246 votes to 776, the members of the Dunedin RSA have decided to proceed for a charter and to operate it in the RSA Club if one is granted. The voting was cast in a ballot conducted in conjunction with the election of officers, the result of which was announced by the new president, Mr K. W. Stewart, at the annual meeting of members last night. In all, 2022 votes were cast, and of this number, 58 members did not vote on the charter referendum. “If a charter is granted by the Licensing Commission, it will be operated' in a manner befitting the RSA,” said Mr Stewart. “ The members can have confidence that the executive would not operate a charter in any way which would bring the RSA into disrepute.”
