EQUALS WORLD RECORD
Ben Hogan’s Brilliant Golf ; Rec. 7 p.m. NEW YORK, May 7. ; Ben Hogan equalled the world record for 72 holes on a par 70 course with ‘a total of 259 to win the 10.000dollar Greenbrier Open Golf Championship at White Sulphur Springs (West Virginia) today. Hogan’s 21 under par aggregate equalled Byron Nelson’s performance in 1945 Seattle Open. Hogan’s rounds were 64, 64. 65, 66. Sam Snead, with 66. 68, 69. 66 for a total of 269, was second: and Norman von Nida, 68, 67, 70, 65—270, was third.
