PORT CHALMERS
VALEDICTORY A pleasant function took place in the stationmaster's office at Port Chalmers to farewell Mr W. J. Murray, a railways guard who has been stationed at Port Chalmers for a number of years and who has completed 40 years’ service with the New Zealand Railways. A representative gathering of locomotive and maintenance officials assembled to farewell the guest. After many complimentary remarks by the various members, the stationmaster. Mr H. Coombs, presented Mr Murray with a gentleman's compactum set in a leather case. Mr Murray replied
