PRISON SENTENCE IMPOSED
In the Magistrate's Court on Saturday, Te Rua Kikihi Karetai, a labourer, aged 23, pleaded guilty to a charge of being found without lawful excuse, but in circumstances which did not disclose the commission of a crime, on hotel premises. Messrs O. E. S. Wood and J. F. Himburg, justices of the peace, who were on the Bench, sentenced him to 14 days’ imprisonment. Thomas Jackson, a labourer, aged 23, was remanded until today on two charges of stealing bicycles.
