BACK IN NEW ZEALAND
The Salmagundi mare, Galway Bay, who raced with success in Australia earlier in the season, had two races over the holidays and at her last start she ran fourth to Faithful Pal, Reveller and Carnegie in the Donald Handicap at the Wairarapa meeting. She is engaged in the Anniversary Handicap on the first day of the Wellington Cup meeting and it will be interesting to see how she fares against a useful mile field. , She was bred in Southland, being out of Locncoribb, by Woodend from Direct Hit, bv Fleetham. Lochcoribb was a useful jumper and her dam left other good performers over country in Shillelagh Wood, Bally Brit. Sister Modesta and True Range. ,
