Mr Avra M. Warren, a former American Minister in New Zealand, has been appointed United States Ambassador to Pakistan. His headquarters will be at Karachi.
Mr A. W. Snelling, Deputy United Kingdom High Commissioner in New Zealand, is to return to England early next year. Appointed to succeed Mr N. E. Coster in 1948, Mr Snelling was Acting High Commissioner after the resignation of Sir Patrick Duff and until the arrival of the latter’s successor, Mr C. R. Price. Before his New Zealand appointment, Mr Snelling was attached to the Commonwealth Relations Office (formerly the Dominions Office in London) and is a specialist in economic affairs.
