Perfect Holiday Weather In Sydney

Perfect Christmas holiday weather is continuing today, which most Sydney people are spending at the beaches and sporting events. More than 150 steam trains are bringing holidaymakers back to the city from country resorts today. Yesterday, road traffic was extremely heavy, but accidents were few. The attendance at Randwick for the Summer Cup meeting was lower than usual, with 45,800 present. About 170,000 went to the beaches, but the crowds there were estimated to be smaller than usual for Boxing Day. The police report that Sydney was free from major crime during the holidays.
