HEAVY TOLL IN OTHER FIRES
NEW YORK, Dec. 26.
Four persons, including a woman of 90, were burned to death in a fire which swept three apartment houses at Newark (New Jersey). Between 6 p.m. on December 23 and 11 p.m. on December 25, there were 52 deaths from fires in the United States. Accidental deaths over the same period totalled 359, of which 264 were caused by traffic troubles.
