CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL
CATHOLIC LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION PA ’ WELLINGTON, Dec. 27. Wellington easily beat Auckland by 13 rubbers to 2 in the final of the Watson Shield tennis competition held at Lower Hutt today. Auckland has held the shield for the last two years The matches were part of the New Zealand Catholic Lawn Tennis Asociation’s Christmas carnival. After the final of the Watson Shield matches, play was begun in the Men’s Singles of the New Zealand Catholic Championships, in which 120 players Are competing. The finals of the championships are expected to be reached on Saturday.
