POLLARD AND BRAN
PROPOSED ABOLITION OF CONTROL POULTRY-KEEPERS ALARMED PA WELLINGTON, Nov. 17. A protest has been made by the Wellington Registered Poultrykeepers’ Association against the proposed abolition of controls on pollard and bran. An association meeting at Palmerston North on Wednesday decided to send the following telegram to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Cullen: “The Wellington Registered Poultry-keep-ers’ Association, supported by affiliated associations comprising Marton, Wanganui, Masterton, Hastings, Gisborne Taradale, New Plymouth, Stratford, Hawera, Hutt Valley, Marlborough and Nelson, strongly protests against the abolition of control of pollard and bran, for if this is effected a grave danger will be inflicted on the industry and egg production will be seriously reduced. urgently requested.” Mr Cullen, in a telegram, to-day advised the Wanganui Association that the decision to revoke control will be held over until December 31 and in the meantime the matter will be reviewed with the object of protecting the interests of poultry producers.
