CHURCH TRIALS ISSUE
International Court Of Justice Opinion Resolution To Assembly NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. NEW' YORK, Oct. 13. The United Nations Special Political Committee voted overwhelmingly today recommending the General Assembly to send the Balkan churph trials issue to the International Court of Justice for an opinion. The committee adopted by 41 votes to 5, with 9 abstentions, a resolution introduced by the United States, Bolivia and Canada. It issued a mild rebuke to Bulgaria. Rumania and Hungary for their refusal to arbitrate under their peace treaties the charges that the prosecution of Cardinal Mindszenty and other church leaders constituted violations of human rights. The committee recommended that the issue be brought before next year’s Assembly session.
