Turning Point In History Of Europe Stalin’s Congratulations NZPA—Copyright Rec. 11.15 p.m. BERLIN, Oct. 14. .Mr Stalin, in a congratulatory message to the Communist leaders of the new East German Republic, described it's creation as the turning point in the history of Europe. , „ In a letter released by the Russian licensed ADN News Agency, Mr Stalin said that peace-loving Germany would find great sympathy and active support among all peoples, including the British, United States, French, and Russian. He said that if Russia and Germany fought, for peace with the same vigour as they showed in war one could consider the peace of Europe secured* 1 ■ ‘‘There is no doubt that the existence. of a peace-loving democratic Germany along with the existence of the peace-loving Soviet will exclude thd possibility of new wars in Europe, make an end to European bloodshed, and make impossible the servitude of European countries under world imperialism.” . Mr Stalin said that Russia suffered most in the war. . , Addressing Mr Wilhelm Pieck, President and Mr Otto Grotewohl, Prime Minister of the Eastern State, Mr Stalin said: “Allow me to congratulate you and the German people on the occasion of the' establishment of a German democratic republic. If you lay the foundation for a unified democratic peace-loving Germany,, at the same time you will fulfil great work for all Europe by granting it firm peace. I wish you success on this new and glorious road. May the unified, independent, democratic, and peaceful nation live and prosper.” The West German Minister for All German Affairs, Mr Jakob Kaiser, told a press conference that the West German Federal Government would not establish relations with the new East German Government, but would completely ignore its existence. “We do not intend to negotiate with afiy unelected and Communistdominated Government,” he said.
