BASKETBALL
Three Matches Played
Only three basketball competition matches were played on Saturday, and a further two were won by default, before rain set in on Saturday afternoon. In the A Grade Totara won by default from Enfield and Star 11 beat Malieno 5. This match was fast ar.d open, with Star showing the better combination. The score might have been even higher but for the sound Maheno defence. M. Rawson showed to advantage in Star's goal, while Star’s defence managed to repel most of Maheno’s attacking movements. In the B Grade, section 1, United beat Old Girls by 18 goals to 9, and The Dee’s defaulted to CYM. In the B Grade, Section 2, Maheno 5 drew with CYM 5.
