TAIERI COUNTY
MONTHLY COUNCIL MEETING
The May meeting of the Taieri County Council was attended by J. W. Pcnno (chairman). C. Findlay, T. Carruthers, G. Stevenson, D. Murdock, W. I. Nichol, J. A. Wither, and C. G. Robinson. The. engineer reported that surfacing and grading had been carriecj out in each riding, 17 roads having been graded, 20 surfaced, 10 spread with gravel, and one metalled. The Brighton streets had also been spread with gravel. ; The rate of 2Jd struck for 1949-50 Was confirmed. The O.tago Hospital Board notified that'the levy for the year ending March 31, 1950, would be £4952 Us Bd. It was decided to attend to the improvements on the Outram-Berwick highway as requested by the South Taieri Federated Farmers. The clerk stated that this work was included in the estimates.
