PORTOBELLO RATEPAYERS
There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of the Portobello Ratepayers and householders Association held in the Coronation Hall recently. The chairman, Mr A. K. Tregonning, in moving the adoption of the report, said that he could not report any direct progress during the last 12 months, in spite of the various suggestions for improvement made to the County Council. The treasurer, Mr Allpress, presenting the statement of accounts, said that while the financial state of the association was a sound one. he felt that it would have been better had the money been spent on the amenities so urgently required in the district. The election of officers resulted: Chairman, Mr W. Allpress; secretary, Mr P. J. Wilson; treasurer. Miss Hanning; auditor, Mr P. Moss; committee —Mrs A. Brown, Messrs Daniels. Hancock. I. Aitken, J. Hansen, A. Tregonning, R. Wilson, and L. Heal
