ALLOCATION OF STATE HOUSES
Sir, —I read with interest the article by your staff reporter concerning the allocation of State houses. One point raised, dealing with the people from other centres who receive houses, appears to me to have been dealt with from a parochial point of view. It is not right to assume that people who- have had an apDlication lodged for some time at Dunedin are any more entitled to have a house allotted to them than are people who may have had an apnlication for longer and have been compelled to travel about the country.—l am, etc., E. Parker. Oamaru.
