GALLANTRY RECOGNISED
AFRICAN POLICE SERGEANT Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, May 24. An African police sergeant who, although transfixed by a spear, shot and wounded his assailant, has been posthumously awarded the Colonial Police Medal for gallantry. Sergeant Miunde was fatally wounded by a Masai tribesman, who broke out of a hut which the police had surrounded to find a criminal.
