ALEXANDRA
Special to the Dally Times ALEXANDRA. May 15. Matakanui is still the leading team In the Vincent Rugby competition, as it has not yet suffered a loss this season. Clyde, however, has an adjourned match to play with Alexandra. Queenstown and Tarras had a hard game on Saturday, both teams showing considerable dash. At Alexandra, Wanaka was overwhelmed by the local team, which fielded a much-improved side, and was assisted by L. Washington and N. Luna, who gave outstanding displays. The whole pack played well, however, and was too heavy for the young Wanaka eight. The Alexandra backs showed more thrust than in previous games. Scores:— Senior.—Matakanui 5, Bannockburn, nil; Alexandra 43, Wanaka nil; Cromwell 8, Arrowtown nil; Queenstown 13, Tarras 12. Junior.—Alexandra 12, Matakanui ,3; Country 9, Cromwell 9; Clyde 26, Wanaka 3. HOCKEY Manuherikia 7, Alexandra 3; Clyde 5, Clutha nil; Dunstan 2. Kawarau 1.
