CONTACTS TRACED IN DOMINION
PA AUCKLAND, May 11.
Three persons who recently travelled from England to Australia in an aircraft which carried a steward suffering from a mild attack of smallpox have been traced to the Auckland province. Two were located by the Health Department in the Hamilton district and the third was traced in Auckland yesterday. The necessary steps are being taken by the health officers. . As the passengers in the plane had been vaccinated in England, there was not a great risk that there would be any spread of infection in New Zealand, said the Auckland medical officer of health, Dr A. W. S. Thompson. All precautions, however, would have to be taken. If any other persons who travelled in the plane had later come tc New Zealand they should report to the nearest medical officer of health.
