Special to the Daily Times PALMERSTON, Apl. 17. RUGBY FOOTBALL Athletic (Oamaru) played Palmerston seniors at Palmerston on Saturday. The result was: Athletic 5, Palmerston nil. The curtain-raiser was a junior grade game® between Palmerston juniors and Shag Point, Palmerston juniors winning by 17 points to 6. Union (Dunedin) played Waikouaiti at Waikouaiti, the game resulting in a draw—l 4 all. GOLF The Ardleigh Golf Club held their opening day on Saturday, when a Mixed Canadian Foursome was played. The winners were Miss V. Clearwater and Mr N. North. The Ladies’ Putting Competition was won bv Mrs J. Knight.
