DIVINING FOR GOLD

Sir, —I don’t wonder at J. M. Steward finding fault and condemning divining as he does if he has seen such blunders as I have seen with would-be diviners that were not gifted and altogether unreliable. On two different farms coal drew their rod. and evidently they thought it was water. No doubt they meant well for the farmer. Unless a diviner is very near 100 per-cent. as. a diviner he is sure to cause .£ lot' of . expense for nothing. I have divined water for about 30 farmers, and ail have a good supply of water, and I can estimate the depth before the well is dug to within a few feet.—l am, etc., , J. S. Sinclair.
