HOUSE AND SENATE APPROVE EXTENSION OF MARSHALL AIL
WASHINGTON, Rec. 8.20 p.m. Apl. 14. The House and Senate approved a compromise worked out by the House and Senate foreign affairs leaders to authorise 5,430,000,000 dollars for the extension of the Marshall Plan and an additional 150,000.000 dollars as a guarantee to American investors in Marshall PJan projects. Senator Tom Connally, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the legislation’s passage represented both generosity and farreaching vision. It would have a terrific impact in the cause of peace and help to rebuild and strengthen the free Governments of Europe.
