PA INVERCARGILL, Mar. 29. With the biggest yarding of the season forward, store sheep again provided the main activity at Lorneville to-day. There was a big bench of buyers and prices were firm on those ruling at recent sales. Fat cattle and fat sheep sold well and values showed an improvement. The fat cattle yarding was bigger than that of last week, and comprised mainly unfinished cows. The few pens of prime bullocks and heifers forward met with a keen demand and prices for these were firm to a shade better than those ruling in recent weeks. Prime heavy bullocks made to £29; prime mediums, £22 10s to £25 10s; lighter, £l7 to £2l; unfinished from £l3 to £ls. Prime heavy heifers made to £lB 10s; mediums, £l4 10s to £l6; lighter, £ll to £l3 10s. Prime heavy cows made to £ls 15s; mediums, £l2 to £l4 10s; light sorts, £lO to £l3 10s; unfinished, down to £B. In the fat sheep section a good yarding including some extra quality two-tooth wethers was forward. Prices for inferior wethers were slightly lower than at previous sales. Heavy-weight wethers sold at 56s to 595: good quality twotooths, 55s to 57s 6d; mediums, 50s lo 53s 6d; light-weights, 40s to 48s fid; small. 40s to 435. Medium quality butchers' ewes made 31s to 335; unfinished sold (o 28s.
