BIG FIELDS CARDED FOR AUCKLAND MEETING
Big fields are carded in all events at the Auckland Racing Club’s March meeting at Ellerslie to-day, and divisions have been provided for in the Ascot, Suburban, and Hauraki Handicaps. One scratching in the last-named race will reduce the field to the safety limit. Unless there is further rain, the track should provide good going and horses likely to find favour include:— 11.0: Percival Hack Handicap.—First division: Vice-chancellor, Ututere, Sunshaft. Second division: Kon Tiki. Flying Jane, Lady’s Bridge. 11.50. Orewa Hurdles. Observatory, Hunter’s Green, Red Glare. 12.35: Services' Handicap.—Valley Boy. Conspiracy, Quick March 120: Ascot Handicap.—First division. Stanfred, Mere Ana, Coronach’s Pride. Second division: Nionyx, Gold Point. Gold Pal. 2.10: Empire Steeplechase.—Lucky Alex. Pomade, Merriful.
2.55: Suburban Hack Handicap.—First division: Speartact, Regal Gold, Prince Second division: King’s Law. Surprise Packet, Dora Lee.
3.45: ’ Hauraki Handicap.—Rizzio, Coonbrid<=e. Chubin. 4.35: Salisbury Handicap.—Pelias, Shirley Fox. Niloch.
Scratchings are: Services’ Handicap, Beaute, 4.35 p.m.; Ascot Handicap—Ballet 4 p.m., Miss Nasrah 2.30 p.m.; Percival Handicap, King’s Law. 2.50 p.m.; Suburban Handicap, Dr John, 11.50 a.m.
