STOCK SALES
BALCLUTHA There was a yarding of 3731 store sheep and 390 fat sheep at the Balclutha stock sale yesterday. The store sheep yarding comprised mainly full and failing-mouth ewes. They met with a ready sale. In the store sheep section, competition was confined to the freezing buyers and full schedule rates were maintained. Quotations:— Store sheep.—Medium m.s. lambs, 29s to 32s 9d; culls, to 22s 6d. good ewe lambs, 45s 9d to 46s 6d; medium ewe lambs, to 37s lOd; good wether lambs, to 34s 3d; medium wether lambs, 32s to 33s 3d; light wether lambs, 26s to 30s; cull wether lambs, 18s to 24s 6d. Good two-tooth ewes, to 66s 6d; medium twotooth ewes, to 58s; small two-tooth ewes, to 50s 3d. Extra good four and six-tooth ewes, to 60s; medium four and six-tooth ewes, to 44s 6d; extra good four-year-old ewes, to 565: medium four-year-old ewes, to 41s; good five-year-old ewes, 37s to 38s 6d; medium five-year-old ewes, 32s to 35s 9d; small five-year-old ewes, 26s 3d to 26s 9d; full and failing-mouth ewes, to 22 s 6d. Fat Sheep.—Extra good lambs, to 565; good lambs, to 48s; medium lambs, to 40s. Prime ewes. 29s 9d to 30s 9d; medium ewes, 24s to 28s 9d; light ewes. 19s to 235.
