MORE PARCELS FOR LONDON DOCKLAND
London dockland’s fairy godmother, Mrs W. J. Mclnnes, of Wilson avenue, St. Clair, in continuation of her efforts has assembled six large cases of goods, which left yesterday on the first stage of their journey to the Homeland. Three cases were filled with warm clothing, patchwork quilts and cot covers. Some of the garments sent to Mrs Mclnnes have needed mending, a task requiring more time than she could spare, but this problem was solved when an interested visitor gathered up a large bundle of clothes and announced that she would mend the lot, an offer that was accepted with alacrity. The remaining three cases contain toys, 250 in all, and every one perfect in its way, and it is obvious that those who have made these toys have put many hours of painstaking work into their manufacture. Mrs Mclnnes, when interviewed yesterday by the Daily Times, was planning her next shipment of parcels, and has already collected a tidy sum towards it, as well as clothes and food.
