HOMING PIGEONS
The Oarnaru Homing Pigeon Club held a flock race from Christchurch on Saturday, the winning bird covering the 138 miles in 3 hours 28 minutes 19 seconds at a velocity of 1170 yards per minute Five lofts were liberated and results were:— W. Lundberg’s Blue Flight, velocity 1170 yards per minute 1; D. Mcßride’s Dictator. 1152, 2; M. Hay’s Lady Ethel, 1138, 3. Next Saturday the club will fly its second New Zealand Federation race for yearlings from Blenheim, a distance of 196 miles.
