“RING MR P. G. CONNOLLY”
sir it surely must have been a severe shock to readers of Friday’s DaUy Tin l ®* to find that staid and august journal entering for once the realms of the comic papers. The report of Mr P. G. Connolly’s interview with their Majesties might well have graced the pages of “comic cuts.” Mr Connolly, by this latest effort, has certainly qualified to enter the ranks of the leading comedians, and he certainly must have provided considerable amusement for their Majesties.. When Mr Connolly appears on the platform on his return to New Zealand he will be able to advertise his performances, “Under royal patronage.” It might well be sugnested that Mr P. G. Connolly, instead "of jaunting overseas at the taxpayers* expense, should have stayed at home, close to his telephone, and solved some of the many difficulties that are facing electors of Dunedin Central under a Labour Administration.—l am, etc., Charlie Chaplin
