DRAMA FESTIVAL
SOUTH OTAGO VENTURE - “I was delighted with both the A and B Grade sections,” said the judge, Mrs Ailsa Stephens, when announcing the results of the inaugural festival of the British Drama League (South Otago area). The festival ran for three nights and concluded last night. There were four entries in the A Grade section and eight in the B Grade, Results:—
A Grade.—Balclutha, “ Lives o’ Men" Miss L. Holland, Mrs E. Jury, Mr A. Dreaver, Mr B. Hill. Mr L. McLean, Miss M. Rutherford; producer, Mr A. Dreaver), 84 points, 1; Milton, “Distant Drum," 80 points, 2. B Grade. —Port Molyneux Club, “Anniversary” (Mr I. Aitkenhead, Mr R. Crossan, Mr L. Daly, Mrs D. McPherson; producer, Mrs Daly), 81 points, and Mataura, “Mrs Methuselah ” (Mesdames Butler, Bristow, Wright, Piercy, McConnell and Sinclair, and Miss Crowe; producer, Mrs Quilter), 81 points (equal) 1; Benhar, “ Where Every Prospect Pleases,” 79 points, 3.
