FINE HOME PURCHASED
MORMON HEADQUARTERS i.large dollar transaction P-A. AUCKLAND, Aug. 11. One of the finest homes in Remuera, che former residence of the late Mr M. M. Louisson, is to be sold, subject co the consent of the Land Sales Committee. to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Mission for £12,500. It is intended to use the premises for mission headquarters and tor housing the president, Mr G. C. Young and his family and eight of the 17 Morman missionaries in the Auckland district. The home is occupied at present by Mrs Louisson, wife of the late owner.
The sale is expected to represent one of the biggest single property deals in dollars concluded in recent years. Arrangements have been made by the Morman Church here with its headquarters in Salt Lake City in the United States to provide about 38,000 dollars to purchase the property. This sum is said to be additional to the 13,000 dollars, or £4500, which is spent each month on missionary and other work among the 12.000 Mormans in New Zealand.
Mr Louisson, the original owner, died last year. He was managing director of Fairbairn, Wright, Ltd., general merchants, of Auckland, and was associated with a number of social and sporting bodies here.
