CRASHED PLANE

SALVAGE OF CARGO WORK UNDER WAY r A BLENHEIM. Aug. 11. The salvage of the cargo from the wrecked Dakota, Parera, began yesterday, when a party of Port Underwood settlers, under the authority of the Railways Department, brought down the first consignments to Whataroa Bay, from where they were brought to Blenheim by launch. They consisted of small amounts of blankets, woollens and tweeds. This morning six railway employees left for Whataroa Bay to complete the salvage work, which it is Hoped to complete within the next day or two if the weather holds.
