THREE NEW CASES
INFANTILE PARALYSIS IN AUCKLAND SPREAD TO FAR NORTH P.A. AUCKLAND. Feb. 29. Three new positive cases of infantile paralysis, and the readmission to the Auckland Hospital for , further treatment of a man who was formerly a positive case, were reported in the Central Auckland health district tonight. Two of the new cases are an adult from the city, and a child from Pukekohe, who were both admitted to hospital last Thursday for another complaint. In addition, there were two more admissions of suspected cases during the week-end. There were 37 positive cases in hospital tonight and two suspects. The first positive case of infantile paralysis to develop in the north was reported to-day from Kaitaia, where a girl aged 10 was admitted to hospital on Thursday as a suspect, was diagnosed as positive. Two previous cases in the north last December, one in Whangarei, and one in Dargaville, were both visitors from Auckland, where.they are believed to have contracted the disease.
