REBUILDING PLANNED
BURNT-OUT LINER FOR AUSTRALIA TRANSPORT OF MIGRANTS Rec. 8 p.m. CANBERRA, Feb. 27. The Federal Government will spend £ 1 000,000 to rebuild the burnt-out liner Bermuda Monarch, which at present is in dock in the Firth of Forth, Scotland. The Minister of Immigration Mr A. A. Calwell, in announcing this’ added that the ship would bring migrants' to Australia. The Bermuda Monarch would be capable of making six trips a year,. bi’inging 6800 new settlers to Australia. She would be ready for service early next year.
