FAMILY BENEFITS
POSITION OF CHILDREN OVER 16 P.A. WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. Certfiicates signed by head teachers of. schools to the effect that children who had enrolled for the current year would be accepted by the Social Security Commissoln in extending the family benefits for children over 16, said the Minister of Social Security. Mr Parry, to-night. The Minister added that the late reopening of schools this year had caused some confusion, but it would be sufficient for the purpose of extending family benefits if certificates were obtained from head teachers stating that the children had enrolled as full-time pupils. The certificates should be forwarded to the registrar of social security for the district before February 28. The necessary forms could be obtained from am' district office of the department, saic! the Minister. Prompt notification would be a great help to the department.
