BUYING WELL SPREAD

CONTINENT OPERATING FREELY THE OFFICIAL REPORT The official report of the third wool sale of the 1947-48 season, as issued by the Dunedin Stock Agents and Woolbrokers’ Association, in conjunction with. the New Zealand Wool Buyers’ Association and the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission, states that in general prices were well maintained on recent sales. Competition was representative of all sections, with local mills taking a fair share of the high-priced wools. The Continent operated very freely, while competition from Bradford was more animated for all types. Prices were very firm for medium halfbreds and fine crossbreds on lines showing light condition. Medium crossbreds and crossbreds were inclined to be erratic. There was a very keen inquiry for skirtings of all types. A noticeable feature of the sale was the complete absence of passings to the Joint Organisation. Thp official ranee of prices is:—
